Why didn’t I think of this?

The perfect solution to disconnected boys: Connect them to a boy band. And here’s the ideal vehicle, the “ultimate boy band audition,” scheduled for Aug. 20 in New York City. If all the highly educated girls adopt enough boy bands, our worries will be over.

Are we moving from a world where boys don’t want to date smart girls to one where girls don’t want to date smart boys? Are boys the new sex object with girls having the money and power because they will be the ones with the education?
Or worse still to a world where girls do well in school but don’t want to use their education but would rather play dumb to attract unskilled boys who will be less able to take care of them? Things are getting scary.

Sounds like a grand idea! Go for it! In the meantime, those of us supporting the Boy Scouts will root you on from the sidelines. After all, it’s not our boys who are failing. Looking at the high school graduation rate scoreboard, it’s Boy Scouts 91, General Population of Boys 65. That’s 91-65.

Boy bands ought to be just the thing to close that gap!
