		<description>I would suggest that at least part of  the problem is that many male students are not at liberty to leave the country for an extended period of time, nor do they have access to funding for travel.  Quite a few male students are married, have children, are involved in interning/work-study, or just plain have to work in order to pay their tuition.  When I was a college student, there was no way I could have have gone abroad for three months; I was working 25 hours/week to (just barely) pay tuition and my bills.  I suspect that a higher percentage of women have access to family or scholarship funding, and don't have to worry about being financially self-sufficient or supporting dependents.</description>
