The first graph explains that the flushing of the boys into the wild is recession-related. Not read that story before? Me neither, until our Arabic-speaking daughter sent me this Al Jazeera link. Shockingly, the English version of Al Jazeera doesn’t have that link.
At first I assumed it was a mash-up of the Times series on disconnected youth but no, the network has a far better source: Lasvegasnow.com, which did in fact write a piece about homeless teens.
Just in case you’re wondering, this is how America is being portrayed in the Arabic press.
