It’s progress, but way too slow…
Good news here in the New York Times about women stepping up as business owners, with a fourth of all businesses now headed by women.
That’s one of the problems arising from women dominating higher education. If women steer away from start-up businesses and STEM careers, which has been the reality, then the gender imbalances present a challenge to national economic interests.
Don’t get too excited, though. As the article points out: “Only 4.2 percent of all revenue is generated by businesses owned by women in the United States, the report found.”
