To me, this article is very sad. I think that the reason this question can even be brought up is because our society simply doesn’t need many of those who come into this world. Why else would you have hundreds applying for a handful of elementary education positions, for instance? I mentioned in an earlier comment the difference in percentage of population currently in the workforce compared to 1950. A book came out recently called Guyland. It described the kind of extended adolescence that many young men are following today. But maybe living in that fantasy world is preferable to facing a reality where you just aren’t needed.
